Notice biographique
Born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Marion Bond studied drawing and water colours at the age of nine and later attended the Nova Scotia College of Art, the Art Students' League of New York and Columbia University, where she received her Master of Fine Arts degree. A portrait and landscape painter in realistic and abstract styles, she was influenced by Marjorie Tozer, Stanley Royle, George Bridgman and others. She also did some sculpture in wood and stone. She taught at the Nova Scotia College of Art. Her works are represented in the collections of the Nova Scotia Museum of Fine Arts, the Nova Scotia Government and the Nova Scotia Society of Artists diploma collection.
