- Kathleen Pinkerton (née Campbell) attended the Bishop Strachan School, Toronto, where she studied with Mary Wrinch Reid, and she later studied with Frederick Challener at the Central Technical School, Toronto, in 1920. Pinkerton continued her artistic training with summer classes at the Ontario College of Art, where she studied with William Beatty, George Reid, A. Y. Jackson and Frederick Varley. She received her diploma in 1925. Working in oil, acrylic, and watercolour, Pinkerton was known for her portraits and sketches of the land as well as silkscreening. Throughout her career she exhibited with the Canadian National Exhibition, the Women’s Art Association in Ontario, the Art Gallery of Ontario and the Art Gallery of Windsor. Pinkerton was a member of the Fakirs Art Club, Windsor, the Heliconian Club, the Canadian Society of Graphic Art and the Print and Drawing Council of Canada.
