Notice biographique
This painter of flowers began her studies under Laura Muntz Lyall in Toronto. Subsequently, she left for Paris, where she continued her training under Claudio Casteliucio, and at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière. When she returned to Canada, she married. However, this proved no obstacle to her artistic career, as Robertson continued to exhibit frequently, holding solo shows at the Eaton's and Malloney galleries in Toronto; the Eaton's and Henry Morgan galleries in Montreal; James Wilson and Co. in Ottawa; Vose Galleries in Boston, Mass.; and in Buffalo, N.Y. The artist also exhibited with the Royal Canadian Academy and the Ontario Society of Artists for several years. In 1932, she completed the illustrations for a book of sketches and poems entitled "The Cattle in the Stall," in collaboration with Nina Moore.
