- Notice biographique
- The beauty of old Quebec and its landscape is reflected in the works of painter and printmaker Simone Hudon-Beaulac. She studied at the Ecole des beaux-arts du Quebec (EBAQ) under H. Ivan Neilson, who taught her etching, and Lucian Martial, who was her professor of drawing, painting and decoration. Upon her graduation in 1931, she was awarded a number of prizes and medals for her work and, shortly thereafter, replaced Neilson as drawing teacher at the school; she also offered classes in perspective and decoration. A member of the Canadian Society of Graphic Art, Hudon-Beaulac's work has been exhibited many times, in both North America and Britain. In particular, she participated in a joint exhibition with sculptor and fellow Quebecois artist Sylvia Daoust at the EBAQ. She is well-known for her illustration of the book entitled "Au fil des cotes de Quebec," which was completed for the Canadian Centennial in 1967.
