- Estelle Dickey grew up in Victoria, British Columbia, and moved to Revelstoke in the late 1910s. Born Estelle Elizabeth Jones, she assumed the name Estelle Dickey upon her marriage to W. Earle Dickey, a local photographer whose work regularly appeared in the Vancouver Sun and local tourism brochures. The couple worked together as a photographic team with Earle Dickey taking the photographs and Estelle Dickey developing them, as well as occasionally hand-colouring the images. After her husband died in 1954, Dickey began to take her own photographs. She worked as a portrait photographer and created photographic postcards, depicting the area around Revelstoke. The Revelstoke Museum and Archives owns a large collection of the couple's work.
