- When her family moved to Windsor, Ontario in 1927, Raymond Gravel attended the John Wicker's School of Fine Arts in Detroit and also took classes at the Detroit Society of Arts. In 1934 she studied at the Academie Julian, as well as the Ecole nationale superieure des beaux arts in Paris. Her paintings included still life, portraits, and landscapes. Her work was accepted at the Salon de Paris (1936) and the following year at the Royal Canadian Academy annual exhibition held in Montreal. She worked in Ottawa before returning to Quebec in 1947, exploring various media, including book illustration and murals (church decoration) (murals) at the Eglise St. Luc in St Jean Sur Richelieu in 1958. In 2021 her portraits were exhibited at the Musee de Joliette as well as at the Musee des Beaux Arts de Sherbrooke. Both these museums as well as the Musee Louis Hemon in northern Quebec hold her work.
