- Louise Waldorf Clarke was the youngest of eight children, and her father was John Clarke, who led expeditions to the Pacific, and worked for the Hudson's Bay Company in Peace River. Clarke was an amateur painter who produced landscapes in oil. She studied at the Albany Institute in New York, and was active in Montreal circa 1900.
