- Vera Weatherbie studied at the Vancouver School of Decorative and Applied Arts (VSDAA) from 1925 to 1929. During her studies, she won a number of awards, including the Vancouver Exhibition Association Scholarship in Drawing & Painting for 1927/28 and 1928/29 and the Fyfe-Smith Travelling Scholarship, 1929/30. She attended the Royal Academy in London. England. Later in 1934, she won the Beatrice Stone Medal in Painting for "My-E-En." Vera Weatherbie taught drawing, composition and painting at the British Columbia College of Art, a school that was founded in Vancouver by Frederick Varley and Jock Macdonald in 1933; it closed in 1935. Her work was shown through the early 1950s in Vancouver, Seattle and at national exhibitions. She was included in the "Vancouver School of Art: The Early Years, 1925-1939" exhibition in 1980 and "My-E-En" was shown at "Vancouver Art & Artists, 1931-1983" in 1983. In 1984/85, the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria included "Portrait of Molly" in "British Columbia Women Artists, 1885-1985."
