- Gwendolyn Bailey was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick in 1883. She was a largely self-taught painter, taking instruction only in her later years. Her subjects at the time of a show in the Harriet Irving Library (1974) were floral and included such works as "Petunia," "White Trilliums and Bleeding Heart," and "Bluebells." She also worked in textiles. The date of her death is unknown.
