Notice biographique
Dorothy Gladys Bell studied at the Edinburgh School of Art prior to attending the Vancouver School of Art, graduating in 1939. Her paintings were often landscapes which one reviewer described as "realism ... beyond stark statement of facts, and her vision and personality [are] clearly evident." Bell married Dr. Fred C. Bell and moved to Gleneagles, which subject then occupied her work. At the time of her death in July 1954 a show of her work was hanging in Midge Robertson's Gleneagle Studio Shop.
