- Francis Forbes Bayne studied at the Art Department of Acadia University, Wolfville, N.S., where she won a scholarship at the age of twelve. While studying at Acadia, Bayne worked with the artist Lewis Smith. In 1930 she enrolled at the Nova Scotia College of Art and graduatied in 1933. While in Halifax she also took summer classes with Stanley Royal. During her career, she exhibited with the Nova Scotia Society of Artists, the Maritime Art Association, the Montreal Art Association and the Royal Canadian Academy.
