- Ida Joy studied art in Ontario before going to study in Paris at the Academie Julian with P. Cot Gacomotti and T. Robert-Fleury. In 1886 she married Nicolas Didier. She exhibited portraits at Paris Salons from 1882 to 1884 and also the Royal Albert Exhibition in London where she received medals in recognition of her work. One of her works was a portrait of General Boulanger, executed when he was Minister of War, Paris. (Thanks to Dianne O'Neill for her bibliographic research.)
