Notice biographique
Bailey grew up in Toronto before moving to London, Ontario where she studied at the Beal Technical School. She initially worked in ceramics and painting, but later transitioned to copper enamel which became her medium of choice. Bailey was an active member of the London art community, engaged in the development of the London Art Gallery. Her work is held in the Government of Ontario Art Collection and various Canadian galleries including the London Art Gallery. In 1973, a year after Bailey passed away, a retrospective exhibition, including over twenty-four years of her production, was held at the Nancy Poole Gallery in Toronto. In the same year, some of her jewelry was shown in an international exhibition that included works by Picasso, Calder, etc., at the Art Gallery of Ontario.
