Notice biographique
In the 1920s Grace Roberts MacLeod taught in the Glengary district before obtaining a teacher’s certificate from the Ontario College of Education in the 1930s. She taught at St. Lawrence High School and at Cornwall Collegiate and Vocational School for nearly twenty-nine years, specializing in art and English classes. She studied painting under J.W. Beatty at Port Hope, Ontario, Hans Hofmann, Provincetown, Massachusetts, and with Alfred Pinsky in Montreal. Working primarily in painting, Grace MacLeod is known for her landscapes, portraits, still life and abstract works.
