Notice biographique
Oklaga was adopted at an early age by a family in Chesterfield Inlet, Nunavut. In 1975 she moved to Baker Lake where she became an active member of the community of artists. Oklaga often used bold primary colours to create works that focused on human faces which were surrounded by clusters of animals and hybrid creatures. In the 1980s a number of her works on paper were rendered in prints for the annual Baker Lake print collection. Her work can now be found in the collection of the Winnipeg Art Gallery.
