- Notice biographique
- Although it is not known when Lange moved to Canada, her art practice was centered in Edmonton. She worked in a range of media including collage, printmaking, ceramics and painting. In the early 1960s her work was included in the annual Calgary Graphics exhibitions. During this same period, she was a member of the Edmonton Focus Gallery, the first Canadian artists co-op space. Lange's involvement with the Focus Gallery was noted by art critic Clement Greenberg during his visit to western Canada in the early 1960s. In 1961 Lange attended the Immaculate Heart College (Los Angeles), studying printmaking under Sister Corita. She wrote of her semi-abstract stylized silkscreen prints underlining the abstract approach of her work. In addition to her participation in the visual arts, she also worked in costume and theater design, where she was recognized for unusual theater designs. Lange was the Director of Arts for the city of Edmonton and was also involved in art education with children through the Edmonton Art Gallery Women's Society.
