- Eugenia Berlin studied at the Ecole de Beaux-Arts, Geneva, Switzerland, under James Vibert and Valentine Métein-Gilliard (1924-1925). During this time she also attended private classes with Valentine Métein-Gilliard and William Métein. She moved to Toronto in 1925 and continued her studies at the Central Technical School, under Elizabeth Wyn Wood and B. Cogill Haworth, intermittently from 1926 to 1944. In 1933 she moved to Los Angeles and studied at the Chouinard School of Art under Alexander Archipenko. She later studied at Archipenko’s Summer Art School at Woodstock, New York in 1946; Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario in 1957; and Victoria College in 1958. Berlin worked in different media, such as sculpture, watercolour, batik, mixed media paintings, and she also produced ceramics and pottery. She won a prize at the Toronto Winter Fair for her garden sculpture. In 1977 she held a solo exhibition of her mixed media paintings and watercolours at the King City Public Library. She also exhibited at Eaton’s Art Gallery, J.M. Dent and Sons, and the Royal Canadian Academy. Her work is represented in the collections of the National Gallery of Canada.
