- Notice biographique
- Born in Poland in 1910, Ethel Rosenfield immigrated to Montreal in 1919 and waited until she was over forty-five and her children were sufficiently independent before enrolling in night classes at Ecole des Beaux Arts. She studied under Armand Filion and later continued during the day with Louis Archambault. In 1962 she was a co-founder of the Quebec Sculptors' Association. Her works were primarily in stone -- Indiana limestone, Carrara, Verona and Quebec marble, though she also used bronze and wood. Her work was shown in Quebec and Ontario as well as at the Rodin Museum in Paris and at the first Symposium of Sculpture in Quebec in Montreal in 1964.
