- Dora De Pédery-Hunt completed her studies from 1937 to 1943 in Hungary where she received a Masters Diploma, Sculpture, Royal School of Fine and Applied Arts in Budapest. She immigrated to Canada in 1948 and settled in Toronto. She was instrumental in introducing the ancient art of medal sculpture to Canada. She worked in various mediums including clay, wood, bronze and plastics. Two of her portraits are held in the National Gallery of Canada. her work can also be found in the British Museum, Royal Cabinet of Medals, The Hague, Royal Cabinet of Medals, Brussels, and the Smithsonian Institute. She was an Officer of the Order of Canada.
