Biography synopsis
Galerneau devoted over fifty years of her life to textile arts. She was head technician of the Arts Department for the Quebec Minister of Agriculture from 1947-1970. A family friend Oscar Beriau invited her to learn weaving in St. Henri de Levis in the 1930s. She became responsible for the Department of Patterns and also taught weaving and gave conferences to the network of Cercles des Fermieres. Her contributions were recognized by naming a prize after her. She coauthored Le Tissage. In a regular chronicle she taught Peruvian, Mexican and Danish weaving.
