Biography synopsis
Hilda Mitchell attended the Manchester Art School, where she studied drawing, focusing on the human form. She painted portraits as well as animals and mountain landscapes. As a member of the two major Alberta art associations, she exhibited extensively with the Edmonton Art Club (1926-49) as well as the Alberta Society of Artists. She also participated in an exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery (1943) and the Edmonton Museums of Arts (1935 and 1944). Her works are held at the Art Gallery of Alberta and Provincial Archives of Alberta.
