- Notice biographique
- Kay Angliss began her art education at the Vancouver School of Art, graduating in 1946. She continued her studies at Emma Lake Art School in Saskatchewan as well the University of Calgary (printmaking) and the Alberta College of Art where she attended workshops with recognized American printmakers. She is best known for her work in printing, particularly serigraphy and relief printing but she also worked in watercolour and fibre art. During the 1950s, she used scavenged materials including house paints and off cuts from printing houses because of financial constraints. She taught at the Alberta College of Art from 1965-1980 and also instructed children at the Allied Arts Centre in Calgary from 1960-74. Angliss was a Life Member of the Alberta Society of Artists, beginning in 1976. She was also the recipient of the Royal Canadian Academy's Trust Fund in 1994. Her work has been exhibited and collected widely throughout Canada. Angliss and her husband, also an artist, returned to British Columbia in 1989 where they continued their practice.
